Stop now if you donít want to see or hear anything political. But I had enough of this bull**** already. Statues coming down, cities being destroyed, businesses burnt down, veteran monuments being defaced. Enough! I am outraged, pissed off and had enough. Bring it on; this old veteran is ready! i support the blue!

Biden is a sacrificial lamb. We don't yet know who the actual POTUS would be within 6 months if he were elected (God forbid).

We are all confused. All except those who are hell bent on destruction. They know exactly what they are doing.

Meanwhile we continue to try soothing the beast by taking Aunt Jemima off Pancake boxes, saying Bye-Bye to Uncle Ben, the Dixie Chicks change their name to "Chicks", and you know who Lady "A" is right?

The anarchists must be laughing up their collective sleeve while we call a lawless, commandeered no-go zone a festive gathering.

There is only one thing that will unconfuse us - start taking action against the power hungry, criminally oriented, selfish, blatantly ignorant individuals (not to mention stupid) who previous to their riotous acts couldn't cope with society and are now running it.

Many of you know this from past discussions I've participated in that got political here, so I'll also say stop now if you are not into reading about political topics.....

... but I've been part of a Democratic family all my life, and a state convention delegate many times. We were saved by FDR's policies and programs after Hoover and Wall Street put us all in the Great Depression economically, and after Hoover had had troops attack veterans in a Washington park who came to DC to get pensions from the federal government that were promised them but not paid. I cannot ever forget all that Republican history. However, moving on to the situation today....

I blame the Clintons for what has become of the Democratic party lately, and the anarchy. They looked at polls, spoke to splinter groups, pulled them together to get votes..... rather than hold onto and represent the common core voter, who had become tired of union unrest and inflationary policies by Democrats before Reagan and GHW Bush were elected. (I was tired of it too, btw.... and I call Carter the weakest President of all during my lifetime)
Bill won with that splinter election strategy, Hillary didn't - because voters woke up to how Hillary operated and her ethics. Splinter groups have remained part of the strategy ever since. Even when Obama was elected, a core value program of the old party such as Social Security was neglected in order to appease the splinter groups. We had both Houses of Congress and the Presidency in his first term, but Obama did nothing to address Social Security funding long-term!

Sadly, the current party structure has been taken over from within by people who are not really Democrats (Socialist Bernie comes quickly to mind, but there are many whose names are unknown outside the party, running the show in each State). The last convention I attended, I swear they had hired thugs to be in all the breakout rooms, arms crossed and standing behind the podium speakers, to inhibit any disagreement from the crowd over the National party's plan being laid out by our district rep in the room (at the time mainly the Clinton healthcare plan, that eventually morphed and became Obamacare, and moving the party more to the left over the "glass ceiling" workplace women's issue and LGBT issues). Now the convention issues are erasing borders, free everything, sanctuary cities, remove police, Federally legalizing marijuana, fake climate change, erasing history, masks. Plenty more splinters to rally single-issue voters around, and moving us further away from the traditional broader-based core issues.

Not one word mentioned by party leaders about any plans to reverse brick-and-mortar job losses and bankruptcies caused by online businesses such as Amazon, or un-taxed free checkout scanner labor at your grocery stores and Walmart. Or your local post office only open 2 hours a day...because FedEx, DHL, and UPS do not pay a franchise fee to the USPS, which owns the rights to movement of mail in our country embedded by the founding fathers in the US Constitution, and also because banks do not pay any fees to the post office for handling on-line payment transactions that take the place of 1st class business mail. (Amazon is also now getting into package delivery with its own truck fleet, so they should pay a fee to USPS too)

The splinter strategy might win this time, but I hope not. (I'm loathe to support bully, dictatorial, self-serving egotist Trump either, even though I find I do have some common ground with his political positions.) The splinter strategy has definitely emboldened anarchist behavior, because only one side of the political debate is responding to it. The other side doesn't want to lose votes.

The only way to fix the socialist takeover within the Democrat organization, sadly, is for a 3rd party to form (and maybe even a 4th party because the GOP has extremists too) that would represent middle ground Americans on broad-based issues, drawing dissatisfied voters from both Democratic and Republican ranks, to isolate and push the splinter groups and extremists at both ends of the 2-party system into the minority. Similar to the mid-1800's when the Whig party could no longer function and the Republican party was formed with Lincoln as its leader.

We really had no good choices when we went to the polls to decide between Hillary and Trump in the previous election. Biden vs. Trump is no better choice. I look at Biden, and see someone whose health appears to be declining before our eyes, and doubt he can survive the job for 4 years truthfully. We certainly don't need an "accidental" President at this critical moment in history, taking over the role without a vote.

Myron, I agree with you. Maybe not 100% on the gun issue, but all the other. We need to put stronger leaders in place, and use petitions to impeach judges, governors, mayors and district attorneys who protect anarchy. If someone shoots at a police officer, regardless what weapon is used, or if they only turn slightly to fire back over their shoulder as they run away, they better expect return fire from police will be supported by our elected administrators and district attorneys. There is no time for "debate" in those real-life split second situations. Some statues might best be moved into private museum settings, but for the rest they should be left where they are, and MANY arrests made and fines issued for damages to public/private property. I am not reading in the news sources I use anything about arrests being made and jail for toppling statues. So anarchists continue to do it!

I'll probably piss off some who read this, but I honestly respect everyone's opinion.

It's just the people who take strong positions that cannot ever be defended with logic that I disagree openly with. Like in a youtube I recently saw where someone claimed being called fat was racist. A lunatic's notion!

Bill - good read. No one knows what logic is these days and I'm willing to bet that most who protest coudn't even tell you the reason(s) why they do so. They are caught up in mob mentality. But something has to be done.

Why can't we use our intelligence agencies, on whom we rely to break complicated codes during wartime, and our other significantly trained investigative forces to find out once and for all if rioters are being paid to cause mayhem and if so who is paying them?

It's difficult to believe that we are not able to solve these crimes that have been on-going. And if we know who is doing it, why we can't prosecute. It's hard to watch law enforcement as it stands by allowing destruction to happen. It's gut wrenching to watch businesses and lives being destroyed in the name of black rights. Who is kidding who?

George Soros' name keeps coming up, but I'm wondering if this is just an easy escape because we are too lazy to invest the time to do the DD. Can this guy actually be the Devil who is responsible for all that is wrong in this world?

If all that is said about the man is true - how is it that he remains a free citizen of the U.S., able to do as he pleases? Are we afraid of the guy? Same goes for the honorable reverend Al Sharpton and other well knowns who are (suspected) political criminals. Why are they not being vetted? Why are they not in jail?

I'm tired of seeing false posts from those who should know better than to believe the unbelievable, but never lift a finger to verify anything and repost everything that is sensational. Many of us need to stand along side the media for being the purveyors of false information. We help create the animosity that is infecting our existence..

It's time we use our own good judgment and quit throwing lighter fluid on a burning bonfire. It's time we quit chasing our tail. It's time we **** or get off the pot. Yeah, colloquials. We use them when we can't find a better way to express ourselves.

I agree with both post. I don't judge by political affiliation, never have; I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, I respect that. Hell, my mother and father were die-hard democrats all their life. We had some pretty intense conversations over the years and neither they or I ever left pissed off; that's the way it should be. But what is going on today with all these riots and destruction isn't right. I agree with monuments being in museums but do it the right way. All this free stuff they are demanding, why? I don't understand that what makes them entitled to it? Look me and my family are blessed, I'll be the first to admit that, nobody handed me a bag of money, I worked for what I got and so did my kids. They learned from their parents and are teaching their children the same values. I have no answers for the future of this country and it scares the hell out of me for my children and grandchildren. In my own small town it resembles nothing as it did all those years ago. We have a different population now with different values which gives our once beautiful city a totally different look and feel and not for the good either. I hope this isn't the future but I am afraid it is.

I just saw your Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision to keep your State economy shut-down there, Myron.

This is what I mean where I say citizens should use their Constitutional petition power, in this case to impeach judges who act against the people and on behalf of splinter groups. Individuals can decide on their own to stay home if they wish, but everyone should not be forced to against their will.

(I consider the elite medical "experts" to be a "splinter" serving their own self-interest more than the general public here, since people not exposed will never develop immunity to the virus and that means years more revenue for medical doctors and hospitals. They should not be considered impartial in this matter. Plus, a few years of free grant money for "research" comes with "flattening the curve".)

Actually, also to my way of thinking, these "supreme" judges should not even have the power or right to interfere in government matters that are administrative decisions for emergencies, and that have not been passed as law on the books. The elected legislators should oversee executive (Governor) actions, because they must face voters in elections. Judges should only have the jurisdiction to make decisions on laws duly passed, or if the legislators by vote disagree with the Governor, and thereby arbitration is required to break the tie.

If administrators ending an administrative action such as the lock down (or ending DACA on the Federal level) is not constitutional, then the administrative decision to begin that same shutdown (or DACA) should have also been ruled unconstitutional by the judges. It wasn't, in either case. This current evolution to "pick-and-choose" judicial powers effectively has made judges King over all other branches of government, not the arbitrator that was envisioned in the Constitution's three-legged stool. The power-grab they've done will continue over your children and grandchildren unless the "parents" today use petitions more effectively against judges.

And now a city in Maine has decided to remove police from schools! People were complaining loudly to school boards just a year ago that we need police in schools for safety!
Sheer fickleness, over current events..... no wonder we can't prevent violence!

One more news item.... and if it's true Trump is sunk, I think. A new Super-PAC is being formed by former Bush administration personnel to get out the vote for Biden. That will likely split the GOP vote enormously.

Food for thought. Should Biden be elected POTUS (God forbid) do you think that most of our troubles will suddenly and magically disappear - including Covid 19?

Hesitant to reply because now there is so much hatred in the US towards anyone with different view points. Why in the last four years has US society become so divided /broken? I do not know, perhaps 40 years from now a more rational review of history will reveal the cause of all this unrest. Perhaps I view the US issues a little different then some on this board. I am a US citizen, born in NC, military family, grew up globally, and as an adult worked / lived in multiple countries (always file my taxes with the IRS on earned-income abroad). As a US expat I have opinions why the US has lost respect globally. I follow international news and the belief is Americans look no further than their own personal backyard and lost the ability to understand the world is a global society and global economy. I am not going to blame one political party or another, that is useless. What I would like is for all Americans is to get their S=3* together and decide if we are going to be one nation united or continue to make countries like Russia, China, North Korea happy our democracy is in chaos.

I am age 69, lived / worked in Canada for 18 years and when I retire this time next year, 2021, moving back to US only for family reasons. Call me a socialist but in Canada:
Healthcare: In the last 17-18 years, went to emergency care three times...every sort of medical tests you can think of...I have never been charged one dollar. Even as an expat with Permanent Residence status, I have had free healthcare in Canada. Pay about $20 per month for additional insurance to cover the six prescription's I take a month. My pills in the US would cost me about $900 per month, in Canada cost is about $3.00 per month. Scares the hell out of me how much money it will cost me for health insurance when I move back to the states. At age 69, gay, I know discrimination. In my life, just because I was 'perceived' of being gay, I lost housing, jobs, attacked by police, or even worst attacked by others and police would not investigate because...he is only a queer. Do not you white guys think you know anything about discrimination! Moving back to the US in 2021, I still will not have equal rights in all 50 states. However, I have 100% equal rights in Canada as well as many EU countries. America is the land of the free...Bull S==t!

1994, mid-life, left NYC to earn my graduate degree in VA. Broke my ankle one day before classes started. Hospital would not treat me until they could verify I was too poor to pay, I did not have insurance. A month later, hospital told be they processed paper work I was poor, come in for treatment. Broken bones already healed broken.
2001, Rob & I had been a couple for close to 20 years, not allowed to marry, I was in the Middle East saw the love of my live die live on CNN when the towers fell. Took some time before a few bone fragments were identified as Rob. I had no legal rights to claim those few bone fragments. His Catholic parents had control. Learned years later, my Rob of nearly 20 years, his urn with his remains was sold for $10 at a garage sale. That is what discrimatin in America means to me. I do not forget, I do not forgive.

To, at least partially, answer your questions Alfred:
This country is suffering from at least 25 years of failed Congressional representation. Members of Congress, especially the leadership, have done little to nothing to address the issues building up here. They've dodged their responsibility to legislate because they're afraid they might offend someone and ruin their chances for re-election, their primary goal. With many, it's about self-service rather than public service. They care more about their donors wishes than representing the voters that elect them.
Keep the "peasants" fighting amongst themselves and they won't pay any attention to us. Just make empty promises at election time to get voted in and then go back to business as usual. Stir the pot around each election so the voters forget why they should vote for someone else.

Not every person in our Congress is a grifter, but the ones who aren't are far outnumbered by the ones that are.

Yes, this just my considered opinion, but I believe it's pretty close to the truth.
