My Collection

My Collection, is just that. Any model, which you Own/Sold is stored here. Simply click on the Model ID control, scroll the list to locate the appropriate model and select it. Or you can use our simple naming convection to locate the model group you are interested in.

Let's review our naming convection for the current model, our Model ID FM2003CHECORBUR. FM=Franklin Mint, 2003=the model's year, CHE=Chevrolet, COR=Corvette and BUR=Burgundy the model's color.

Now based on this information typing ANY of these symbols will move you to that group of models within our database. For example typing FM2003 will place you in all Franklin Mint Models that are 2003's, adding CHE will place you at any Franklin Mint models, that are 2003's and Chevrolets. Again, we are trying to simplify our program making it as easy as possible for the user to navigate to the desired model.

My Collection Features:

  • Navigation Bar... allows the user to move around our form. The top controls First, Next, Previous, Last and New are for navigation through My Collection and reflect just what they are named. First, places the user on the first record in My Collection, Last moves the user to the Last record and New opens a New record for input. The Main Form controls Edit, Save, Cancel and Delete are used to act upon the current record. Upon entering a New Record you MUST save it before moving to your next record. However, if you would like to make changes to an existing record you must select Edit, which will unlock the record for you to make changes. If at anytime you want to back out of a record selecting Cancel will undo your changes. Finally, to remove a record select Delete, which will delete the current record and any other records, which are associated with the current record such as payments that might have been applied to this model.
  • Rolodex... simply opens our Rolodex Form so that you can review, add or edit a contact information.
  • Edit Mod... opens our model viewer, which presents you with a picture of the current model. If you choose to leave the model viewer open while navigating through your collection the picture will change with the current model. Finally, the last object on the Navigation bar is our Exit control, which closes the current form. This is the only way to close our form we chose this type of Exit to assure all required data is added to our form before we allow the end-user to close our form.
  • Model ID... selecting the proper model will fill in ALL the objects directly underneath it. To edit any of the fields related to the current model such as a Part/Box # you must open Add/Edit Model and edit any information on that form. A simple way to edit this information while in My Collection is select View Me from the navigation bar, which opens our model viewer. Simply double-click the Model Number, which opens the Add/Edit Model form showing the corresponding model for editing.
  • Limited Edition... shows two items. One, if the current model is a Limited Edition the quantity produced will be filled in automatically. If you would like to add the number of your model you must first place a check mark in LE located in My Model Info. This will enabled the Model # located in Limited Edition allowing you to place your model LE number in the object now.
  • Model Data... simply stores the condition of the model along with the paperwork, which the model may have.
  • My model Info... works in conjunction with the Show Me My controls. Based on which Model Info you check will allow you to view those particular models when you select an object in Show Me My. This is our built in filter so to speak, so based on what you select in My Model Info will allow us to filter those records at a later time allowing you to view the selected group of models simply by clicking on one of the controls in Show Me My.
  • Notice the tabs on the form Notes, Purchased From, Purchase Info, Sold To and Profit Loss. They are pretty much self explanatory. To enable the Sold To or the Profit Loss tabs you MUST place a check mark in Sold located in My model Info. Notes... is used for personal information on the current model, such as a present or possibly the model had repairs etc. Purchased From... utilizes our Address Book to store this information. Simply select the name in the combo box and you now know who/where the model was purchased. You can add as many names to the Address Book as you like if you choose not to add any purchased from information that is your choice but it will be reflected when doing reports as to where the model came from.To locate a specific model in My Collection use the Find Me control located at the bottom of the form. Only the models in My Collection are available in the Find Me control.

One final note. Any object that is grayed out on our form cannot be edited we do the editing for you keeping the object locked. Once all information is added to our form it must be saved before you can Exit the form.

To Edit an existing model you must select Edit on the Navigation Bar to unlock the form to make changes to the current record. Once the changes have been made select Save to lock the record once again. This is required to maintain the integrity of our database.
