Shameless Ford plug, I admit it! But it's blue, my favorite. And if you hear anyone complaining about the Made in Mexico quality, you can see here yourself how much the robots do in Maverick assembly. Someone thinks German factories are ahead of Ford. Not true!
Ford makes decent products. Their problem is they have a bad habit of blowing product introductions, usually due to defective vendor components that create problems and recalls. The problem with the Bronco hardtops from Webasto is the most recent and well publicized example of this. Beating the crap out suppliers to meet unrealistic cost targets has a lot to do with it. This isn't unique to Ford, but it's still a lousy business practice. Pay me now, or pay the customer later. The quality goes in when the warranty repairs go on.
Interesting video, nice truck, but to me a Maverick is a car not a truck.
Maverick has more recently been used globally as a truck nameplate. Here in the US, this is not well-known. This model was not called Escape in Europe.
