OK here we go with Danbury’s new version of their 1940 Ford Convertible LE this time around and only available to those that have ordered the LE 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan.
I just love a nice blue car and this one in Como Blue is definitely no exception. The paint was a little flat but all it took was a little elbow grease to bring out the shine on this one. As for the convertible top now that is another story all to itself don’t get me wrong I love the look of this top but the cloth finish needs a little more care than what this one was given plus this one also has a good size chip on the underside, so it’s back to DM for a replacement. The cars a keeper I just believe the top itself needs to be replaced.
As for the interior I like this one just the way it is not to flashy and just the right color of brown to set it off against the blue paint. Hidden door hinges look good as do the movable sun visors and I like the little orange knob on the shifter, as well as the way these doors snap shut.
The engine compartment looks good to with it’s flat head engine all wired, hosed and detailed well ,even like the scissors hinges even if to me they don’t look like they are in the right spot.
Don’t look for any fancy DM work on the undercarriage but it does have a working suspension a little on the stiff side but that’s ok with me. Not so happy with the front grille but again it’s passable. I do like the way the fender skirts go on and off fairly easy and they look good to me and I’m not a big skirt kinda guy.
