UPS dropped me the DeSoto I've always wanted: the 2956 IPC in full dress ready for race day...which took place on May 30, 1956...Like the other '56 DeSotos from DM, this is a masterpiece. It's interesting to note the modifications of the Fireflite Convertible as it morphed into the leader of the pack. One thing, when you pop the hood, you'll notice the same dual quad Hemi V8 that nestles under the hood of the 300B and the Adventurer...bristling with detail and breathtaking to behold to any of us old gasoline sniffers.

The interior is very intricate and trick...the seat design is custom, for the event and the "Pacesetter" sub designation...shades of gold with inlayed panels depicting the varying hues. The definition is both startling and stunning...especially with the offset of the black piping. The Highway Hi-Fi remains as an option.

The white and gold pacer is set off with the same sporty gold alloy wheels covers found on the '56 Adventurer along with the gold anodized grille insert. Dual osrv mirrors and rear mounted antennae set off the entire ensemble. The top is camel beige and sets lightly upon the interior. The convertible boot is a snug fitting gold replication and perfectly matches the interior. This is a handsome, handsome automobile and I sure am glad I got one...you should, too!!
