More Info:

In 1969, Dodge created the Daytona. The car was built to be unstoppable on the NASCAR circuit…and it was. In the 1969 racing season, driver Bobby Isaac drove this monster to a closedcourse world speed record of 201.1 mph at Daytona. Later that year, at Bonneville, he set an unlimited class speed record of 217 mph.

Dodge was required to sell 500 of these beauties to the public in order to race the Daytona on the NASCAR circuit and these lucky buyers received one of the toughest, fastest and meanest street machines ever built. Muscle car enthusiasts literally drove a NASCAR race car out of their local Dodge dealership and into their own garage.

Over 340 individual parts are hand painted and polished before being assembled to the Danbury Mint's exacting standards of fit and finish. The hood opens to reveal the expertly detailed 440 cubic inch V-8 engine. The trunk opens to reveal the spare tire, and the headlights pivot open just like on the real car. Even the hood locking pins have been faithfully replicated!
