Automodello announces another Fitch replica and it happens to be the stunning 1966 Fitch Sprint finished in Willow Green and accompanied with a flat black top, hood and trunk lid.
The Fitch Sprint is a modified Corvair Corsa reworked by John Fitch & Co. Inc., Falls Village, Connecticut. John Fitch tweaked the power train, suspension and steering which turned the car into a grand touring machine. But his design changes didn't end there; he added a unique "Ventop" which became a signature Sprint item.
Mr. Fitch was able to obtain a higher horsepower out of the Corsa too. By making a few changes in the engine compartment he was able to obtain approximately 15 more horsepower over the stock version of this car.
Automodello captured Fitch's creation to the T. Having received a few models for photos and reviews I had a hard time deciding which one I liked the best. And honestly I couldn't make a choice as the little Sprint looks as good in person as it does in our photos. You can help but admire the craftsmanship that went into the creation of this replica. Fit, finish, minute detail this model has it all. And the sheer beauty of it is the price, $95 on the date of issue.
