The Automodello 1967 Intermeccanica Italia finished in an eye catching red, it is what every automobile of Italian/American descent should be. Why you ask? It is the correct color for "Hot and Sexy" and this model is both.
Frank and Paula Reisner formed Intermeccanica in Turin in 1967 and began manufacturing the Italia Spyder. Production began after a long series of events including name, ownership and engineering changes. This can probably explain why the Italian-American hybrid isn't better well known, but does little to hide the car's Italian flair and V8 performance.
Through all its names and owners the Italia was a proper Italian-American hybrid that lived up to the original design theme initially set out by Jack Griffith. Like the Monteverdis, Isos, Acs and DeTomasos, it used a large American V8 in a European-manufactured body and chassis.

Automodello really pushed the envelope on this one; it is an "Eye popping" beauty. The Italia sports a very rich, glass like finish. Very deep scribe lines throughout the model which gives the illusion of working features such as the hood, doors and trunk. The interior is just as detailed with strict attention to detail in there too. The model sports a very detailed dash with an authentic looking instrument cluster. The seats remind you of fine leather not some cheap plastic model kit that someone simply glued together in their spare time. Now remember this is only $95 and it includes its own display case too.
This is truly a "No Hype" gorgeous model. If you haven't had the pleasure of viewing an Automodello replica you don't know what you are missing; the quality of the build is evident throughout this replica.
The Automodello 1967 Intermeccanica Italia, in red, went to the top of my list of "Must Have" models; it is simply the most beautiful model I have ever seen. Maybe I am a sucker for an Italian in a red dress? I won't go there, but I promise you will fall in love with this one too. Just hold her in your hand; you won't want to let her go; I didn't.
