The Automodello 1964 Sunbeam Tiger Mark I finished in British Racing Green is sure to "Pop your Cork". This sharp little 1:43 replica looks so right sitting in its display case you can't help but admire the workmanship that went into creating it.
For you older guys/gals that are looking at this automobile and asking the question "Where have I seen this one before?" Secret agent Maxwell Smart! The popular television show of the sixties had Maxwell driving a Sunbeam Tiger only his was red. I wasn't a fan of the show but I do remember his car, so when I first laid eyes on this model I snickered as I remembered Ole' Maxwell Smart and his shoe phone.
Automodello includes an up-top for the Tiger but honestly I didn't like the fit; it didn't fit flush with the body leaving large gaps around the window frames. And mine didn't stay in place very well, therefore, someone walking across the room in all likelihood would create enough vibration for the roof to slide off. Personally, I prefer displaying this one without the top anyway.
The interior detail is very pronounced, making it a pleasure to view. The chrome trim is nice and tight to the body and very well defined. For a 1:43 replica the amount of detail this model sports makes it worth the cost of admission $134 and by the way that is how many of them will be produced in this color combination too, 134.
