I've been sitting on this for quite awhile and, when it arrived, I couldn't believe how DM could take such a stark, bare-bones "sleeper" and make it come sooo ALIVE. Everything is there from the redline tires to the magnificently detailed and finished 396 rat motor to the glistening, sinister black paint. Would you believe each individual hood hinge is composed of NO LESS THAN 7 individual pieces...allowing the hood to open and close EXACTLY as the original does. The chrome foil emblems, themselves, are worth more than the price of admission. Ditto the rally wheels and the flawless build execution.
The interior is as black as the exterior, which makes accurate photography a real trick to perform. The detail is all there even tho these cars were so plain Jane...from the tiny "bowtie" in the center of the steering wheel to the minute and legible instruments to the carpeted floors and the articulating bucket seats. Body shut lines are the usual DM perfection as is the body proportioning, ride height and stance, decals and engine compartment minute detail, the correct trunk mat design in the semi-cavernous rear deck, the rally wheels so predominant in Chevrolet product of the era, and undercarriage depiction that will amaze even the most jaded collector amongst us.
This is another 5 cork + wonder car from the 4 design guys at DM..... KUDOS!!!
You need this model!!!
