Let's look at Danbury's 1958 Corvette this week, I know it's over a year old by now so what it's still a great Vette. The deep ever so light metallic Charcoal paint is a real work of art on this one.
Now let's take a peek at the power plant in this Vette, that would be the 283ci/270hp dual carbs V-8 no fuelie here. And this small block is well-dressed check out the hose clamps along with the metal fuel line and the plug wires, which you will have to look at from under the car to see them.
The ride height looks good to me, even with the working suspension and lets not forget to look in the trunk. The spare comes out with the jack mounted in the spare tire and the instruction sticker is there to tell you how it works, along with a nice rubber mat to cover it all up.
The interior is a work of art on this one with nice soft red bucket seats with fabric like safety belts with PE metal buckles. The dash looks great as you can read the speedo and this one has 59320.4 miles on it. That's a lot of miles on this Corvette but I'll take it anyway.
All in all this is a great looking straight axle vette that seems to have slipped through the cracks as I don't remember much talk about this one when it came out at the end of '03.
What a beautiful interior. I just love these early straight axle Corvette's! And don't miss the great looking door hinges. Wow, they work just as good as they look.
I'm so glad they went with the 283ci/270hp dual carb version and not the fuelie version on this one. I don't really remember to many fuelies running around back then.
Be it top up or top down this is one great looking Vette.
