Automodello 1952 Cunningham

Automodello surprised us with some 1:43 models this month and first out of the box was the 1952-1954 Cunningham C-3 Cabriolet by Vignale, this two tone red beauty is just a stunning piece, included is both a convertible boot and up-top. The Cunningham was the brain child of Briggs Cunningham who by the way was the only manufacturer of America's sports car until the arrival of the Corvette. The C-3, relied on Chrysler's mammoth 331ci Hemi V-8 which delivered 235hp with un-believable torque. His automobiles were built to win at Le Mans and later evolved into their beautiful road worthy automobiles.

Automodello captured Briggs vision in stunning fashionl with their 1:43 replica. I was totally impressed with the models' fit and finish; the paint being absolutely flawless and all the trim had a tight, snug fit to the body. The Automodello Cunningham is a very small run with only two editions which is out of the norm for Automodello. The Cunningham is available in the Tribute Edition which is limited to 154 pieces with a retail price of $154 or the Homage Edition which is limited to 24 units with a retail price of $235, don't miss this one as I am sure it will sell out quickly.
