GMP just keeps amazing me with one outstanding replica after another. And I might add at a very reasonable price to boot. To be honest with you when I received this replica for review, I was rather skeptical of what I would find lurking inside the box. I will tell you that I was rather impressed upon holding this gem in my hands for the first time. Words like spectacular, gorgeous and outstanding just won't do this model justice.
Maybe I am prejudice towards racecars, a sport that I have loved and followed closely since my youth. You will only appreciate my love for these replicas if you are familiar with the sights, sounds, and smells of racing. One trip to a racetrack and you will be hooked on collecting these models too. Before you realize what is happening you will be adding more shelves to your display case to accommodate you new found love, racecars. Hence, another piece of automotive history added to your collection.
That is where the GMP Lola T70 Mk.3B comes into play; it is a piece of auto racing history. Dan Gurney put this car on the pole at the 1967 Times Grand Prix and blew the engine after leading the race for just three laps.
The fit and finish on this replica is outstanding, the black paint is glass like in appearance. Lifting the rear deck reveals a very detailed engine compartment that is truly impressive for a model in this price range. I am talking hoses, wires, transmission coolers, suspension bars, and headers. You get the idea, if it belongs in there GMP made sure that the replica was as original as possible.
Peering into the cockpit you can't help but notice the same attention to detail that GMP is fast becoming famous for. For example, notice the little things that make a model special such as the seatbelts (correct harness), fire extinguisher, racing gauges (yes, they are readable) in line shifter, looking closely under the dash you will notice the racing peddles too. I have to tell you I was truly mesmerized on this replica as I twisted and turned it to view all its features, what a steal for $89.95.
Understand I am not pushing a product here, nor am I inferring anything based on the price, other than the fact you are getting a lot of model for a "VERY" reasonable price. I am impressed, very impressed with the quality and detail in what I consider to be an inexpensive replica.
If you are into racecars, then GMP needs to be on your list of manufactures to consider. If Road racing is a sport you enjoy or enjoyed, you must add the GMP Lola to your collection, I assure you that you won't be disappointed!
This model is without question a five star replica. The amount of detail and quality that you will receive for $89.95 cannot be beat. Buy this model!
