Thanks T'. There were several 'special' motors by GM back in the late-50s. It's hard to keep track when you're not around them a lot.

You must be talking about the 420A version 389 tri-power engine that was rated at 348 hp built for racing. The regular tri-power engine was rated at 315 hp if I remember correctly.

Reminds me of the stories my Dad would tell about his '57 Starchief. He said it was so fast it could pass anything on the road - EXCEPT A GAS STATION. LOL.

Even for a "sleeper" this looks pretty snazzy!!

This would go in my "blues" folder, but alas and drat it's in webp format and I can't save those on my computer. They disappear for some reason.
