Looks like a clean start! Wonder who took it?

Even drag cars occasionally had white wall tires. Ticks me off a little to see almost every muscle car currently on sale with white letter black walls. Same with our scale model cars, black wall white letter tires.
1970, I bought off the lot a new 1970 Nova SS 396. It had all the chrome bits and whitewall tires right from the factory.

I guess I was fortunate. I got to see scenes like this the few times I went to our local, local being relative, drag strip.

Cool.
I would've loved to have seen this kind of racing 'live'.
