1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham

I remember sitting behind the wheel of an identical car as this at the Auto Show that year, thinking I can't buy this with gas prices the way they are.
Now, I'd still like to have the car -- in 1:24 diecast from the Mints.

Absolutely gorgeous automobile. It even LOOKS luxurious!

Gorgeous car. One of the most beautiful front ends of any car.

I've always liked these. I'd take that in 1/24 also.

Very nice.
But, you needed an attached = 'barn' (not a garage) to park it in.
The same could be said for the Caddy-Eldo and a few Lincolns.

Back in the day my good friend traded his 1972 Mark IV for a new 1975 Imperial, last year it was called Imperial and not a New Yorker in 1976. I have to say that 1975 Imperial was the most comfortable auto I have driven. Drove it many times between Richmond and DC, many times between Richmond and Miami. Remember cruising on the Florida Turnpike at 95 mph without effort. One trip to Fort Lauderdale from Richmond, drove straight through and was so relaxed I went out dancing that night.
