This is a Philly Mint exclusive. If I remember correctly, an LE of 250. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. It's a beautiful model regardless.

According to my records, the Philly Mint cars were triple black (350) and black with a white interior (150). This one was a general Highway 61 release. Later Acme released several different colors after they acquired Highway 61.
A B5 Blue was included in a Wix set that include a 1:18 2008 Challenger in B5
Danbury Mint offered one in B5 with black vinyl top.

Thanks Ted. I apprecate the info. I got to looking at it closer. The license plates on it say 40th anniversary on them. So, I guess I'm not sure what that equates to.

I have this one myself. I bought it in July of 2010 so the 40th anniversary plate makes sense. I'd have to dig out the box to see what sort of information was on it. The Philly Mint cars have a PMC plate on the front of them. There was one other Philly Mint special, a white Vanishing Point version they did. I passed on that one since it was configured like the movie remake Challenger, not the original movie.

For some reason, my mind recalls that DM (I think it was) did a special run of this car and offered a pair of colors to collectors, this color (which looks like Panther Pink on my monitor) and lime green. You had to buy both cars to get either of them, I believe.

Am I dreaming? Maybe. It's been a few years.

Unfortunately, I passed on the offer. Regret that choice, since DM would not be offering 1:24 much longer.

Bill, you are correct, DM did collaborate with ACME to do a couple of these. One blue, one silver. This one is TorRed.

Not sure that's the same thing, Gene.
I got a flyer from DM with that offer. It wasn't a 3rd party collaboration that I recall. But it might have come from FM, not DM.
Colors were Panther Pink, and whatever they called the lime green.

I remember Vinny from Philly Mint. He could get any car for a price.

Nice image, I like that green one.

But still, this isn't the two cars I recall. They were not just pink or green cars from other companies, the flyer I got came from one of the 2 Mints.
I probably have the flyer, if I could ever get to and look through that box in my storage again someday.
Guess we won't resolve this mystery.
