I've never really connected with the Airflow. Other cars of this era I really like, I can't explain the Airflow dislike. I'd have to pass on this one. |

Maybe. It's earlier than I collect, but it advanced the automotive technology of the period, even if the styling was a few years ahead of the public. |

Yes. One of my favorite 'sedans' from this era.
FM did a 2-door version of the Chrysler. I was waiting for the 4-door - I think it has better body-lines. Never really thought about Desoto having their own version; but, I should've guessed.
Like Ted was saying this Airflow was way ahead of its' time in the technology....i.e. - a 'built-in' roll-cage. There's a famous video / film-clip where a stunt driver rolls an Airflow down a steep enbankment. The windshield pops out; but, the passenger compartment isn't crushed. The car drives off. |

Sounds like the Tucker which was 10-15 years later. Pop-out windshield on Tucker was claimed as a crash safety innovation in the lead-up to their production.
I like learning everything I can about automotive development. I'm interested now in findng that clip about the Airflow. |
