Hey guys, I'm planning a project and wanted to see if anyone may be able to help or direct me to someone who can. I need the glass from an FM '55 Chevy hardtop. I've had no luck on Ebay. I'm planning on making a '57 Bonneville hardtop out of my convertible. I have the top minus the glass, and it's looking like it'll fit the Bonneville. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.
Gene, for the windshield - check to see if the windshield out of the convetible frame will fit the hardtop frame. For the FM tri-5 hardtops, it appears that FM used their convertible frames as a starting point - and the profile was slightly taller than the DM tri-5 hardtops.

Thanks Billy, I tried that, the cv windshield has a significantly more curvature to it. Strange, you think they'd be tha same. I tried modifying it, but it left gaps at the top corners of the windsheild. I've also been looking for a scrap/cheap '55 Pontiac to try and switch tops out.

I think the most prolific model builder on youtube is "hpiguys Workshop", Gene. I don't know if he discards extra parts or not after he builds kits. (I think he does 2 or 3 models ---- a week!) You might contact him via his youtube channel. He is in Wisconsin.
Also, there's a big model show and market in Michigan, the Detroit Show is held twice a year, and the Fall show is coming up in a month or two. There are a lot of vendors, many of whom sell previously built kits. Could be parts too, I don't look closely at all the booths. It takes a long time to cover that show, I barely get from end-to-end of the floor in a day. The show is held in the Macomb County Community College gymnasium, northeast of Detroit. Plenty of parking.
I just heard there is a show in Akron next month, although it would be much smaller with fewer vendors than in Detroit.

My plans seem to change daily anymore, but I hope to get to both of the upcoming shows. More than likely, I'll arrive in the early PM and will try to remember to wear my green polo with Ford Oval on it.

Thanks all, I do appreciate the suggestions. I have found a complete top from an FM '57 Chevy, which should work. Hopefully with no, or minor mods. Stay tuned.
