Picked this one up dirt cheap as well. It was missing the antenna's but I've since replaced those. I wasn't crazy about the colors but it doesn't look too bad in hand. I'm still considering taking it apart and repainting it in the gold pictured on the real car. Thanks for looking guys. I did give it a custom plate as the Edsel was considered a lemon, and it's pink...hence "pink lemonade". So, should I leave it as is or shoot it with the gold?
Gene, you may remember that I'm not a big '58 Edsel fan - I favor the '59.
But, i just had a 'possible' brain-storm regarding this '58. In a 30 minute episode where Barney Fife returned to Mayberry - he was driving a '58 Edsel convertible / 'turquoise' or light blue. How's 'that' for a repaint idea?!
Gold if you like it that way, Gene. It looks good in that photo with the fall background. I see lots of colors I personally like in Bob's Autocolor Library post, but it will be sitting on YOUR shelf.
This guy's plastic model building channel on youtube I like to watch. Kreg's Corner He did a '58 Edsel hardtop in red/white that looks great to me. (In the process of building, he lost one of the spinners for the wheel covers, so overlook that) He does long videos, so skip ahead to about 38:00, where he is showing the finished model.
