I agree with Gene. This is a wild set-up. A tri-axle on a 30s truck is rare enough. But, what's the deal with the back 'steering' axle?! I wonder what this set-up was used to haul.
Complicated enough. Synchronizing two physically separate engines would be a challenge. I don't think the rear steer would work the way they think with two fixed axles ahead of it. Scrub some tires anyone?
I don't think the rearmost axle is steering, It looks like it's designed to freewheel and turn with rotation of the frame. They recognized the 3rd axle would chew up more rear tandem tires if the 3rd axle was fixed.
