everyone fears the call in the middle of the night; you know it is never good. Well our daughter called last night crying her eyes out; one of her best friends was involved in a head on crash, killing her husband. The driver of the car which hit them never blinked, driving into them in what was estimated at 80 mph or more. This happened not far from our daughters home, their two children where in the car with them, thank God they were not badly hurt. Mom is in surgery as I type this with multiple injuries and the sad part is she doesn't know her husband is dead. How do you tell them Daddy is gone five days before Christmas?

My heart breaks for all those involved. And the question remains why?

Sad thing anytime, but especially before Christmas ... a time children are happy and close to family. I do hope the Mom recovers, so it's not even harder for the kids, and your daughter.

Thanks Bill. I am sick over this; I know these people, two little boy’s without a dad. He was only 47 years old. Mom has a very long road ahead of her. Broken neck, broken leg, her ribs are broke and crushed, bones in her face shattered. And two young boys wanting to know why was daddy bleeding from his eyes. Pray for them is all I ask; they need it now more than ever.

Ben's Funeral Service is Friday Morning, his wife is in a comma, and has a very long road ahead of her. Our daughter is having the service filmed so that Erin can watch it when the time is right. Their two boys are struggling with the loss of their father; he was a great dad. The oldest collapsed in the arms of our daughter when he saw her and the little one just wants to know where daddy is and when is he coming home.

I just need to share this with someone because it is tearing me up inside watching all these families grieving, knowing life will never be the same for all of them.

The fund raiser has surpassed $70,000.00 thanks to all our friends and co-workers. The amount of money will never be enough to replace all the life and memories that are left forever. I hope the fundraiser exceeds $100,000.00 to help with the bills that are going to exceed whatever amount collected. Thank you all for listening; my heart is truly broken. I wish I could hold them all in my arms and tell them everything will be OK but I know its not.

I would like to thank everyone that helped in anyway with this fundraiser for Erin. I would like to put a face to this thread so you see the woman you helped either monetarily or with your prayer.

I am very proud of our daughter for initiating this fundraiser for this beautiful family and I am grateful that Lehigh Valley Hospital picked up on our daughters unselfish love for this beautiful family and spread the site throughout their network. I am grateful for Lehigh Valley Live, the "News Station", for picking up on it too.

As of today there has been $95.081.00 dollars raised for Erin and her children. Erin has a very long road to recovery and it isn't going to be easy. Hopefully, the money raised will give her a little peace of mind and she will be able to concentrate on her children and recovery. Love you Erin, we are here if you need us. God Bless you all!
