This historically was Oldsmobile's last hurrah as far as brand sales race went, and I was approaching my first new car purchase.
In 1976, SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) organized a trip to Lansing, and I saw these Cutlasses (and the Toronado) built there.
I shopped Buick Regal, too .... but of course when Ford called that changed my priorities a bit.

Bill, glad to see you posting. This brings back memories. I had a '77, which is almost identical. Rootbeer brown with a tan half top and interior. A nice car over all. I eventually traded it in for an '82 Grand Prix.

Ny father-in law had the same Cutlass Cutlass as you, Gene. But with the reversed colors. Tan Body and brown vinyl top. As usual, he kept the car for 20 years. When it got older, he used it as a back up. He loved "The Cutlass"

My brother had one with the factory t-tops.
It leaked ... nobody cared ... it was still sharp.
